Aziza Fadwa combines her
extensive training and professional experience with a
dynamic personality and technical expertise to create a delightful and
dramatic exhibition of Middle Eastern Dance. After getting her start 30 years
ago in the heyday of American belly dance, Aziza taught and performed
throughout the east coast, including New York City, until she established
herself as a teacher of teachers in the Raleigh-Durham area. She has been
described as spirited, joyful, versatile, and talented, and she draws on a
vast knowledge of various forms of belly dance, including classical and modern
raqs sharqi, traditional and folkloric dance, cane, sword balancing, and both
American and Egyptian-style veil. She is also the Artistic Director for the
professional dance troupe, Flowers of the Desert.
